Grasping Grace

For small group this year, one of my goals is to be faithful in our adoption of our missionary family and to cultivate a greater awareness and heart for what they are doing in their respective country.  THUS: THE MISSIONARY BOX!!!

Basically, I saved an old shoe box that I was on the verge of throwing away (this is how cheap this is!) and bought a few colors of acrylic paints at Michael’s ($.59/per) and decorated it with my girls this past week in small group.  We’ll have the box out during each small group as a tangible reminder of their presence to keep updated and be able to pray for them.  Additionally, we’ll each be financially supporting them, writing out prayers, notes of encouragement, things we’ve been learning, pictures of our small group, etc and putting them into the box (through the side opening!) along with a few other objects they might like that can fit.  At the end of the year we’ll mail it to Japan for our missionaries to receive!  Please please please feel free to “steal”/modify this idea to your liking if you wish and have fun!
